File extension asx information
Text files that provide information about a file stream and its presentation is what is referred to as an ASX file extension, Advanced Stream Redirector files (.asx) which are also known as Windows Media Metafiles. They provide Windows Media Player with information on playlist presentation of media items. Windows Media Metafiles are based on XML syntax and can be encoded in either UNICODE (UTF-8) format or ANSI. They have various elements with their associated tags and attributes where each element defines a particular action or setting in Windows Media Player.
